This policy describes the data processed by simtt.org, in accordance with the GDPR.
Data controller

Data we collect
- Newsletter: your email and language, to send you site updates (legal basis: consent).
- Account: nickname, email and password. In the current version, the password is hashed and stored locally on your device; the nickname and email may be recorded for account management (legal basis: performance of the service).
- Quiz: nickname and email (for the leaderboard and tracking); the score is stored locally on your device.
- No banking data is collected by Simt: Mutual-aid donations are made directly on third-party platforms (money pots, PayPal…).
Local storage (browser)
Simt uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (language), your local account, your quiz score and your notification settings. No advertising cookies or marketing trackers.
Geolocation
For the Qibla and prayer times, the app may ask for your location (GPS). It is used locally in your browser and is not sent to Simt.
Third-party providers
The site relies on: Netlify (hosting and forms, USA), Resend (email sending, if enabled), and the loading of external resources: Google Fonts, CDNs (cdnjs, unpkg), islamic.network / AlQuran Cloud (Qur'an and audio), a tafsir API, flagcdn (flags) and the globe texture (three-globe/NASA). Due to this loading, these services may receive your IP address.
Transfers outside the EU
Some providers (Netlify, Resend, Proton, etc.) are located outside the EU. Any transfers are governed by the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Retention
Subscription emails are kept as long as you remain subscribed or until you request deletion. Locally stored data remains on your device until you erase it (or clear your browser storage).
Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability. To exercise them, write to simtcorp@proton.me. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in each email.
Minors
Simt is aimed at a broad audience. If you are a minor, please get your parents' consent before providing an email.

This policy may change; the version in force is the one published on this page.
